You ever think about what you would say if you could give your younger self advice? Like, “Hey, tank tops don’t work the same as sports bras,” or “Leaving your retainers on your lunch tray while you eat is not only gross but you’ll definitely accidentally throw them away leading to an inevitable garbage dive with the lunch lady”?
As the sun gets closer to setting on 2020 one last time, think of December 2019 You. She’s easy, she’s breezy, she may not be a Covergirl but she definitely hasn’t lived through the hell of 2020 yet so she may as well be at this point tbh. She’s ignorant as shit.
What’s one piece of advice, or one thing, you would tell December 2019 You?
2020 will be awful, but still better than 2019. Get ready to embrace change, over and over and over. The more you accept that change is all life is, the happier you will be.
"Embrace change, over and over and over." Love that. One of my favorite sayings I used to repeat to myself was "embrace the challenge". It was almost a relief to name it a challenge already, I could accept it, and then my job was to embrace it.
“You can’t pour from an empty cup” -Self-care is of the utmost importance in order to take care of others. And with that, it’s equally important to examine and evaluate where, who and what you give your energy to. Especially if it dims your light.
Make some time for your pals at work, take the day off, document your professional achievements while you still can. Explore your loyalties from a third party perspective.
Making time for your friends and for yourself = huge. Also! The documenting prof achievements. I feel like often I don't remember what I've done unless I've taken a picture of it. 🙃

"especially if it dims your light" !!! Could not agree more. Seek those who fan your flames or even better, those who pour gas on them.
